Y finalmente nuestro primer UK tour llego a su fin. Fueron tres semanas de adrenalina, nuevas experiencias, inolvidables momentos, camaraderia, proyeccion al futuro y por sobre todo mucha musica!!

Nuestro ultimo concierto fue en el festival a beneficio Perfect Day en el norte de Londres, a pocas cuadras de Abbey Road, lugar que visitamos nuevamente. El evento benefico fue un exito y nosotros tocamos un set de 30 minutos en donde presentamos nuestras canciones y 3 canciones de nuestras influencias. El UK Tour no podria haber terminado mejor...incluso salimos en un diario del norte de Londres!!!

En pocos semanas estrenaremos nuestro nuevo sitio web en donde se podran leer estos y otros nuevos posts relacionados al tour, fotos, videos y otras cosas. Por lo pronto, los dejamos con una foto del ultimo show y volvemos a Argentina con la certeza de haber hecho muy bien las cosas, disfrutandolas hasta la ultima nota y seguros de que esto...es recien el principio!!

And finaly our first UK tour comes to an end. We'll keep the whole experience, full of adrenalin, friendship and music, forever in our hearts!

Our last concert took place at the Perfect Day Festival in North London, just a few bloks away from Abbey Road. The day in deed was a perfect one and we had a really great time playing there and for a beautiful cause...helping the ones in need. We played a 30 min set full of our songs and 3 covers from our influences.

The tour couldn't have ended in a better way...we've even appeared at a north London newspaper!!

In just a few weeks we'll be releasing a refreshed and new version of our website that will included more posts, memories, photos and videos from the tour...but for the moment this is all we can give to you...a couple of photos from the last day.

We're leaving England feeling sure of ourselves, our music...feeling every minute that this is just the begening.

Han pasado algunos días desde el último posteo...un poco de dispersión y un poco de trabajo en Londres. Continuamos dejando copias de difusión del disco en sellos discográficos y disfrutando de la ciudad.

Hoy fuimos hasta la mítica Abbey Road en St. John`s Woods en el norte de Londres. Obviamente tomamos nuestras fotografías en el cruce peatonal por el que alguna vez desfilara The Beatles.

Más aún, entramos a los estudios Abbey Road y tuvimos la suerte de conocer a Giles Martin, hijo de George Martin, el legendario productor de The Beatles. Giles es quien ahora controla todo lo relacionado al material discográfico del grupo.

Nos presentamos y pudimos regalarle una copia de nuestro disco. Luego de agradecernos y despedirnos se perdió entre una multitud de personal que se preparaba a hacerle una entrevista entro del estudio 3.
Lamentablemente no pudimos tomarnos una foto, pero lo importante fue hecho.

It`s been a couple of days since the last post...we`ve been sending promotional copies of our album to record labels and also enjoying the beautiful London town.

We`ve been visiting Abbey Road this evening...of course we took our photographs on the mytic zebra cross where the Beatles where once photographed for their last album, but we even cross the fences and enter the Abbey Road studio and being lucky enough to met Giles Martin -son of George Martin, the Beatles producer and now the musical director for the band`s albums- and have a little chat with him. we gave him a copy of our album, and after giving us some kind words he left to be interviewed by a bounch of tv people.
We couldn`t take a photograph with him...but the imporant thing was already done.

Nuestro trabajo en Londres ahora consiste en lograr contactos. Hoy fue el turno de dejar algunos cds y carpetas de promoción en un par de sellos discográficos.

Pero debemos admitir que lo más importante sucedió esta mañana en el lujoso hotel Royal Gardens en Kensington, donde después de hablar con los miembros de la banda de Brian Wilson y darles nuestro disco, pudimos intercambiar algunas palabras con el genio creador de Smile y Pet Sounds y tomarnos una foto con nuestro ídolo. La realización de los sueños a veces nos toma por sorpresa...así fue demostrado hoy

Our job in London now is to gain contacts in the music industry and that´s exactly what we did by taking some promotional copies of our album to a couple of record labels.

But we must admitt that the most important thing of the day happened early in the morning in the luxury hotel Royal Gardens in Kensington when, after having a nice conversation with the members of the Brian Wilson`s band we happened to share a few words with the genius creator of Smile and Pet Sounds and even have a photograph taken with him!!

Sometimes relaization of our dreams take us by suprise...that`s what happened to us today!

Hay días que uno recordará toda su vida y que los disfrutará por siempre. Toda la semana anterior se corresponde a ese sentimiento, pero también lo que vivimos hoy. Después de recorrer Londres por largas horas tuvimos el placer de ver a una leyenda de la música moderna, uno de nuestro héroes y gran influencia…pasadas las 8 pm, Brian Wilson, quien fuera líder de The Beach Boys y creador de obras maestras como Pet Sounds y Smile entre otros, subió al escenario del Roundhouse para deleitarnos con su magia…y allí estábamos nosotros.

Pero la emoción no terminó ahí. Nina y Janine, parte del staff de la Beatle Week de Liverpool nos invitaron a conocer a la banda de Brian Wilson en el backstage, donde fuimos presentados como una prometedora banda argentina de power pop. No solo tuvimos la oportunidad de hablar y sacar fotos con los músicos, sino que tuvimos el honor de hablar y fotografiarnos con Sir Peter Blake, creador del concepto y quien fuera responsable de la tapa del disco Sgt. Pepper´s Lonely Heart Club Band de The Beatles. Todo un honor. Una noche inolvidable!

There are some days that you will remember and enjoy forever. The whole last week is one of those special moments of our lives, but also what we`ve experienced today.

After talking a long walk through central London we had the pleasure to see live a musical legend, one of our heroes and great influence...at 8 pm sharp, Brian Wilson –once leader of The Beach Boys and creador of musical gems like Pet sounds and Smile- hit the stage of the Roundhouse, where he gave us his musical magic…and there we were!

But that wasn`t all. Nina and Janine from the Beatle Week staff took us backstage where we met, talked and take photographs with members of the Brian Wilson band. We were presented as new power pop talents from Argentina.
On of the main thrills of the night was to have met Sir Peter Blake, creator and photographer of the cover art of The Beatles Sgt. Pepper Lonely Hearts Club Band.
A night to remember! And be sure...we will!!

La primera parte de la gira llegó a su fin con nuestro último concierto. Esta vez fue en el Cavern Pub donde una vez más ofrecimos nuestro set de canciones de nuestro album debut y covers de Beatles y otras bandas de los 60´s.

Después del concierto nos quedamos en los alrededores de la Mathew Street y compartimos shows con otras bandas amigas.

"Liverpool I left you...say goodbye to Aldmiral Groove" canta Ringo en su último disco Liverpool 8 y creo que no hay palabras más justas para cerrar esta etapa. Caminamos por ultima vez la Withchapel y nos dirigimos hacia nuestro segundo destino...Londres.

The first part of our UK Tour ended with our last show at the Cavern Pub where, once again, we played a set list that included songs from our first album and songs from bands from the 60´s.

After the concert we stayed there with lots of friends and we even stayed to see other band`s shows.

"Liverpool I left you...say goodbye to Admiral Groove" sings Ringo on his last studio album Liverpool 8...and those words seems to be a perfect ending for a perfect time of our lives.

We walked Whitechapel street for the last time and headed to London where the second leg of our tour would take place. See you there!

Apenas pasadas las 6 de la tarde nos subimos por última vez al escenario del Cavern Club. el ambiente ahi siempre es especial. Tocamos un repertorio de canciones de The Beatles, Badfinger, Simon and Garfunkel y por supuesto nuestras canciones!

Fue realmente un sueño haber podido tocar en ese escenario y presentar nuestras canciones en Inglaterra...la respuesta de la gente fue espectacular y eso nos llenó de energía.

Aqui dejamos algunas fotos!

Nos fuimos del Cavern con la seguridad y certeza de que volveremos a subirnos a ese escenario en algún momento...hay más música de The Kavanaghs que llegará a Liverpool pronto...muy pronto!

We hit the stage of the Cavern Club for the last time aroun 6pm. The atmohspere there is always something special! We played a set that included songs from The Beatles, Badfinger, Simon and Garfunkel, and of course the ones from our debut album.

It`s been a dream come true to have played in this historic venue!! It`s also great to have been able to play our own songs to an international audience.

We leave the Cavern feeling that we`ll return there sometime in the near future. There`s a lot of Kavanaghs music to be heard yet...and Liverpool will always be waiting for it!

Hoy fue realmente un día intensamente agotador y emocionante!
En primer lugar estuvimos invitados a una preview del catálogo remasterizado de The Beatles a editarse el próximo mes. Todo un lujo! Además tuvimos la oportunidad de charlar algunas palabras con la ejecutiva de le EMI/Apple que dio la charla e incluso le dimos una copia de nuestro álbum.

Alrededor de las 6 de la tarde subimos al back stage del Cavern Club, donde allá por 1999, Paul McCartney presentara su disco Run, Devil Run, volviendo al lugar que lo vio nacer musicalmente. Fue realmente emocionante!!

Después de un merecido descanso volvimos al Cavern Club para ofrecer dos shows consecutivos en el front stage pasadas la una de la mañana!! Realmente fueron agotadores pero lo disfrutamos mucho!
Un anochecer agitado de un día agitado sin lugar a dudas!

Today was a really an exciting and demanding day!
First of all, we`re invited to take parto of a preview regarding the Beatles remastered albums to be released in early september. That was really awsome!!
Plus, we had the chance to chare a few words with the EMI/Apple executive there and we gave her a copy of our first album.

Justa round 6pm we hit the stage the Cavern`s Back stage for the first time. You know, Paul McCartney played onece there while he was promoting his 1999 album Run, Devil Run. That was realy emotive!!

Then, after a well deserved time for have a meal and get to rest we got back to the Cavern´s front stage where we played two (!) concecutive set lists!!! Those gigs where really exiting but also very demanding...physically...you know…
A hard day`s night indeed!

Nuestro quinto día en Liverpool nos vió subiendo al colectivo del Magical Mystery Tour que nos llevó a conocer lugares relacionados con la historia de The Beatles. Como imaginarán fue una gran emoción para nosotros estar frente la casa de cada uno de ellos, Strawberry Fields y Penny Lane. Increible es sentir la fuerza de la historia.

Esta fotografía la tomamos en el número 12 Arnold Grove, la casa de George Harrison.

Luego llegó el tiempo de los conciertos y el primero temprano en la tarde en un hermosisimo e impactante pub llamado Alma de Cuba. Fue un gran concierto y Seba se dio el lujo de tocar con una Ludwig!!

Por la noche fue el turno del Cavern Club. Apenas pasada la medianoche subimos al escenario para ofrecer un show que fue pura adrenalina y power pop. Nuestras canciones siguen creciendo y las buenas vibraciones de la gente se hacen sentir!

Mañana será un día agitado y difícil...pero ya habrá tiempo para descansar luego.

Our fifth day in Liverpool saw us taking the Magical Mystery Tour that took us to Beatles historic places like Strawberry Fields, Penny Lane and each of the houses where the boys used to live back in the early days. As you can imagine we were really thrilled to be there...Incredible...just to feel the power of history.

Our first concert of the day took place at a beautiful pub called Alma de Cuba. We did great and Seba was really happy because he had the chance to play a Ludwig drum kit!!

Just around midnight we hit the Cavern`s Club fron stage where we gave a really powerful and rocky set. We really enjoyed it!!
Tomorrow is going to be a really hard and busy day...but we`ll get to rest eventualy.

Hoy fue nuestro cuarto día en Liverpool y obviamente nos tomamos un tiempo para recorrer la ciudad que nos sorprende a cada momento.
Esta fotografía fue tomada frente a la impactante catedral de Liverpool.

Nuestra tercera presentación fue nuevamente en el Cavern Pub en el marco de la Beatle Week. El show comenzó alrededor de las 17hs y ofrecimos un show en donde volvimos a presentar nuestras canciones ante una respetuosa y entusiasmada audiencia.

Entrelazadas con temas de The Beatles y Badfinger, nuestras canciones se van ganando un lugar en la atmósfera de Liverpool...y lo notamos. Gente que compra nuestros discos, ofrecimientos de shows en lugares como Hamburgo, Washington DC y Marsella...con cada paso aqui nos damos cuenta de que para The Kavanaghs, citando a Lennon, el mundo es un pequeño pueblo.

Today was our fourth day in Liverpool and of course we`ve also took the time to take long walks and get to know beautiful places of the city. We`re also looking for great photos for the band and this one, taken in front of the breathtaking Liverpool Cathedral was one of the day`s favorites!

Our second show at the Cavern Pub started around 5pm, when we played for a very respectful and enthusiastic audience.Our songs are founding a place in Liverpool`s atmosphere with every time they hit the air, mixed in our set list with songs by The Beatles and Badfinger
!! And we really feel it!!
Lots of people buying our record and giving us good vibrations...even getting invitations to play at Washington DC, Marsella and Hamburg. And we`re certain more than ever that, like Lennon once said, the world is just a little town.

CONCIERTO EN EL CAVERN PUB

Aqui estamos de nuevo...esta vez para contarles un poco de nuestro segundo show en Liverpool y otras actividades.

Lo primero que hicimos fue dejar una copia de promoción de nuestro disco en la mismísima BBC de Liverpool. En un programa llamado The Pool que se emite los domingos van a pasar una de nuestras canciones!!

En cuanto a los shows...esta vez fue en el Cavern Pub, justo enfrente al Cavern Club. Alrededor de las 20 subimos al escenario con nuestras vestuario negro.

Para esta ocasión tocamos Friday on my mind, The simple things y estrenamos Hyde Park. Todas fueron bien recibidas por el público que estaba amontonado en el pequeño bar generando una buena energia.

Aqui dejamos una foto del público...algo que se nos ocurrió hacer y que fue muy efectivo...a la gente le encantó. También fuimos invitados a tocar a Manchester...algo que veremos si podemos realizar!

Mañana será el turno de otra presentación en el Cavern Pub...ahi estaremos tratando de imponer el sonido de The Kavanaghs. Hasta pronto!

CONCERT AT THE CAVERN PUB

Hello everybody!! Nice to be here with you again!! Just wanted you to know that our first show at the Cavern Pub, a little place just across de Cavern Club, here in Liverpool went us just great!! We`re so thrilled to be playing our songs in England and we`re having a great response from the audiences!!

Early today we were talking to people at the BBC Liverpool, and they`ll play a song or two on a program named The Pool this sunday night!! Isn`t that great?? We`ve also been invited to play a gig in Manchester!! We`ll see if we can finaly make it!

We`ll be here again soon...good vibrations!

PRIMERA NOCHE / LIVERPOOL CAVERN CLUB

El tiempo es tirano...y aún más aquí en Liverpool, donde nos encontramos caminando,tocando, conociendo gente en cada paso, a cada hora y momento.

En algún otro momento, más tranquilos, contaremos la historia de manera más completa, pero si hay algo que queremos transmitir es la felicidad de haber alcanzado de manera brillantemente hermosa uno de nuestros objetivos.

Pasadas las 8:30 pm The Kavanaghs subió por primera vez a un escenario ingles...y cuál mejor que el mismísimo escenario del Cavern Club en la ciudad de Liverpool. La emoción era incontrolable aunque la tranquilidad de saber que ibamos a dar un buen show también estaba presente.

Hicimos una selección de canciones de Beatles y Friday on my mind, Cat in town y The simple things, que según creemos se llevó los premios de la noche. La gente se entusiasmó con cada canción, gesto y comentario o humorada que hicieramos....todo fue perfecto.

Uno de los regalos más inesperados de la noche fue ver entre el público como un par de personas entonaron estrofas de nuestra Friday on my mind!!! Fue increible!!!! Luego se nos acercaron y nos comentaron que nos habían visto en Internet...incluso compraron nuestro primer disco. Esta es una foto que tomamos desde el escenario.

Nuestra conquista del viejo continente no pudo empezar de mejor manera...unidos, afinados, emocionados y con la vista puesta en el futuro, porque esto sin duda no es nada más que el comienzo del segundo capítulo en la historia del grupo. Mientras acomodabamos y nos colgabamos los instrumentos antes de subir al escenario del Cavern se terminaba la primera parte...ahora solo queda seguir escribiendo.

FIRST NIGHT AT THE CAVERN CLUB

Hello there! Let us give you a couple of words about our first international gig ever.
It was a dream come true to play at the Cavern Club stage for the first time...people just loved our music, specially The simple things, Cat in town and Friday on my mind. It was great to be playing our songs in Liverpool.

We even discovered that some people in the audience already knew the lyrics from Friday on my mind!!! We just couldn`t believe our eyes!!! It seems that intenet is really helping us in getting to every home in the world.

It was a pleasure, an honor, a dream come true to have the opportunity to play at the Cavern Club...and so we`d like to thank all the people involved in helping us to get here.

The first chapter of our music history ended while we were getting ready to hit the stage...and just after the first chords shaked the Cavern walls we were -at the same time- begining the writting of the rest of our story.

Nuestra primera gira a gran escala está a menos de un mes de iniciarse, pero el proceso de construcción y planeamiento comenzó hace ya un largo tiempo.

Un poco de historia: Nuestro primer single, una primeriza encarnación de la canción All the time que luego fuera editada -en una nueva versión- en nuestro álbum debut, fue editado a principios de 2007 en Inglaterra por el sello oriundo de la ciudad de Oxford Matchbox Recordings.

Desde el momento cero, el proyecto de The Kavanaghs consistió en componer canciones originales, en ingles, en un estilo al que autodenominamos retro-power-pop y tuvimos siempre como meta llegar con nuestras canciones a Inglaterra y Estados Unidos.

Hoy, después de 3 años de trabajo podemos decir que aquel proyecto no era tan imposible como pensabamos: Nuestro album debut recibió maravillosas críticas por parte de conocedores del estilo alrededor de todo el mundo, 4 sellos discográficos norteamericanos están distribuyendo y vendiendo nuestro disco y estamos a punto de embarcarnos hacia Inglaterra en donde daremos más de 15 shows.

Por momentos sentimos que ya hemos logrado muchas de nuestras metas, pero el día a día nos demuestra que este es solo el comienzo. Justamente nos encontramos produciendo más de 20 tracks inéditos por pedido exclusivo de dos sellos americanos.

A principios de 2009 fuimos invitados a participar del International Pop Overthrow Festival tanto en Liverpool como Los Angeles y ahi comenzó toda la idea de armar una gira. Luego, a los pocos días, fuimos invitados por el mítico Cavern Club de Liverpool para participar de la famosa Semana Beatle 2009.

De esa manera, nos inclinamos por esta ultima opción y comenzamos el trabajo de busqueda de nuevos shows en el Reino Unido.

Uno de nuestros mayores logros fue el de conseguir una presentación en el Perfect Day Festival en Londres. Más aún, hemos escrito una canción exclusiva titulada Let love go all the way que será usada por los organizadores de dicho festival.

Hoy todavía estamos en el "momento cero"...con una gran cantidad de cosas por hacer aún. Contactos con discográficas, radios, reviews del disco y posibles presentaciones están siendo analizadas y buscadas por nosotros y nuestro sello discográfico, Eternal Sunday.

Bienvenidos al tour...pronto se inicia!

Our first important tour is about to be iniciated, but the construction and planning process began quite a long time ago.

A little history: Our first single, a first incarnation of the song All the time -later re-recorded and issued on our debut album- was first released in early 2007 by Oxford´s Matchbox Recordings.

From the very begining the Kavanaghs proyect consisted in the writting of original songs in a retro pwoer pop vein, having as our primary goal to direct those songs to America and the UK.

Today, after 3 years of hard work we can say that our proyect was not an impossible one: Our album recieved wonderful reviews from power pop conocciurs all around the world, 4 american record labels are distribuiting and selling our album and we´re about to iniciate our first UK Tour where we´ll play more than 15 gigs.

Sometimes we feel like if we´ve already achieved all our goals, but the daily work show us that this is just the begining. Right now, for example, we´re producing more than 20 unreleased tracks exclusively for two american labels.

In early 2009 we were invited to participate of the International Pop Overthrow Festival in Los Angeles and Liverpool. Just a few days later we recieved another invitation, this time from the mytic Cavern Club in Liverpool who invited us to play at the 2009 edition of the Beatle Week.

Finnaly we choose to stick with this invitations and started the search for more shows in the United Kingdom.

One of the main achievements of ours was to get to play at the Perfect Day Festival in London. Not only that...we´ve even wrote a special song for the festival titled Let love go all the way that will be used for the event.

We´re still at "moment zero"...with a lot of things to do. We´re workingalong our record label Eternal Sunday to get more gigs, radio interviews, reviews and publishing contacto.
